Chief Financial Officer - Fractional
CEFO Advisors is looking for a highly skilled Chief Financial Officer to join our team of fractional CFO's serving a wide variety of clients in the Capital Region and other areas of the country. Position Overview
As a fractional CFO, you'll be working with an assigned group of clients of varying sizes across several industries. You'll be responsible for ensuring we keep our promises to those clients by directing our team to be the most impactful, effective, and efficient. You'll be the trusted advisor to business owners and will provide high-level strategic guidance and oversight to help them profitably grow their business.
Applicants must be based within 60 miles of Saratoga Springs, NY and able to commute to our offices as needed.
Job Responsibilities
- Reviewing financial information and preparing client dashboards.
- Reviewing existing systems and providing recommendations for best practices and gaining efficiency.
- Directing and mentoring internal and external accounting staff.
- Providing regular strategic advice to CEOs and their management teams.
- Participating in client management meetings.
- Participating in regularly scheduled staff meetings and reviews.
- Developing and improving workflow processes.
- Developing banking relationships and successfully arranging lending programs.
- Identifying and correcting existing client pain points.
- Working hand in hand with clients to develop their future strategic plans along with milestones to success.
- Experience with and understanding of the EOS principles is a plus.
- Preparation and/or review of projection models.
- Managing and participating in M&A related projects.
- Preparing and analyzing client assessment reports.
- Managing implementation projects.

Qualifications
- 10+ years as a senior financial professional, filling roles including Controller, CFO, and Director of Finance.
- CPA, MBA, or CMA a Plus!
- Mix of Public Accounting and Private Company experience is preferred but not critical.
- Experience working as a CFO for multiple companies in an advisory capacity, within a management consulting firm, is a PLUS.
- Demonstrated success managing client engagements on budget while achieving the required scope of work.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills required.
- Ability to coach and mentor business owners and staff.
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple accounts and priorities.
- Proficiency with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
- Must be comfortable working in a team dynamic with a variety of personalities.
- Proficiency with Excel, Word, PPT, and other software.
- Experience with QB, Sage products, and similar ERP systems.
- The ability to quickly learn and understand client systems is necessary.
- Experience with new system implementation is a plus.
- Confidentiality and promptness are of utmost importance.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- $65.00 - $75.00/hour to start.
