About the Role
The Capital Region Chamber is seeking a Director of Loan Fund Operations to lead the underwriting, servicing, compliance, and reporting of its loan funds. This part‑time leadership role plays a critical part in supporting small businesses, economic development, and access to capital across the region.
This position is ideal for an experienced lending professional who values mission‑driven work and enjoys hands‑on responsibility.
What You'll Be Responsible For:
Loan Underwriting & Origination
- Lead underwriting and credit analysis for loan applications, including financial statements, cash flow, collateral, and risk assessment
- Conduct borrower due diligence and assess business plans, management capacity, and creditworthiness
- Prepare clear loan recommendations for review by the loan committee
- Provide technical assistance to help applicants improve loan readiness
Loan Servicing & Portfolio Management
- Oversee loan servicing, borrower communications, and account maintenance
- Monitor portfolio performance and manage delinquencies, restructures, and workouts
- Maintain accurate loan documentation and servicing records
- Coordinate with legal counsel, collections teams, and external partners
- Implement and manage loan servicing systems and operational tools
Compliance & Reporting
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal lending regulations and funding agreements
- Prepare and submit required financial, impact, and compliance reports
- Serve as the primary contact for auditors, regulators, and funding partners
- Support internal and external audits and implement corrective actions
What We're Looking For:
Experience & Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field (Master’s preferred)
- Minimum 5 years of experience in lending, underwriting, loan servicing, or financial program administration
- Experience with federally funded lending programs or regulatory compliance preferred
- Background in small business or community development lending a plus
Skills & Strengths
- Strong financial analysis and credit underwriting skills
- Working knowledge of federal lending and compliance requirements
- Experience with loan servicing or portfolio management systems
- Ability to clearly explain financial concepts to borrowers and partners
- Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and able to work independently
- Sound professional judgment and high integrity
