For the right person, this starts as a President role and can quickly evolve into broader platform leadership.
The business already has strong market presence, an established customer base, a recognised name in the local market, and a platform with real ambition behind it. The wider group is actively exploring additional HVAC acquisitions, with multiple businesses under review and one already under LOI. That gives the successful candidate the chance to do more than lead a single operating company. They will help shape the future of the mechanical side of the platform.
This is not a “keep it ticking over” role. It is the opportunity to build, scale, and lead a much larger HVAC platform over time.
THE COMPANY
A private equity-backed HVAC services business in the North East of the USA, part of a broader group.
The HVAC company operates across two core revenue streams:
- Residential New Construction (RNC)
- Residential Service, Retrofit and Service Contracts
The business revenue is $20M+ currently.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
Success in this role is not just about holding the business together. It is about moving it forward materially.
Over the first 12–24 months, success will look like:
- Delivering growth to $100M
- Improving EBITDA beyond the current 10% level
- Building a clearer and more effective org structure
- Increasing accountability and operating discipline
- Improving marketing effectiveness and commercial return
- Creating stronger recruiting and succession processes
- Driving better retention of field talent
- Improving recurring service and retrofit revenue mix
- Supporting integration readiness for future acquisitions
- Establishing the business as the foundation for broader mechanical platform growth
Longer term, success means helping build the mechanical division into a much larger, multi-entity platform and stepping into a wider leadership remit as that happens.
IDEAL BACKGROUND
This role is best suited to a proven operator who has already led a meaningful HVAC business and wants a bigger platform opportunity.
The ideal candidate will likely have:
- Experience as a President, General Manager, or senior operational leader
- Full P&L responsibility
- HVAC services experience across residential service, retrofit, and ideally RNC
- Experience in a PE-backed or professionally run corporate environment
- Leadership experience in a business of $25M+ revenue
- Strong financial reporting discipline
- A track record of growth, execution, and organisational improvement
- The ability to lead both people and performance
- A strong reputation for doing what they say they will do
RNC experience is helpful, but not essential if the person is strong in HVAC services leadership and can lead the broader operation.
LOCATION
New York State, USA
Longer term, as the role expands into the broader corporate mechanical team, there could be flexibility to relocate to other parts of the US.

- Base salary: $200,000 – $250,000
- Bonus: 30%
