SPORTIME has 17 facility locations, most recently adding the iconic Port Washington Tennis Academy, now SPORTIME Port Washington, the largest indoor racket sports facility on Long Island. SPORTIME currently offers 194 indoor and outdoor tennis courts and 70 pickleball courts, as well as rinks, turf, camps, gyms and more, at sites across Long Island, in NYC, in Westchester in th,e NY Capital Region and New Jersey. Summary
Provides effective management of a single SPORTIME location, through effective planning, leadership, sales generation and fiscal control. Ensures that quality standards are met in marketing, sales, programming, coaching, member and guest satisfaction, facility cleanliness, maintenance, safety and overall quality. Leads, empowers and supports staff through diligent hiring practices, and thorough proactive, clear and patient training and supervision and open communication.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Staff recruitment, training and supervision
- Recruits, trains and supervises key program directors and other staff members
- Ensures that all employees comply with SPORTIME Policies and Procedures.
- Performs 30-day, 90-day and annual reviews, corrective interviews as necessary, delivers consistent feedback and mentoring, using clear communication and positive reinforcement, and finds areas of opportunity/for growth
- Conducts weekly staff meetings to provide updates, engage in strategic planning and ensure open and effective communication between all departments
- Meet with Directors weekly, individually, and as a group
- Creates a positive working environment, where employees feel valued and part of a team
Marketing and Customer/Member Recruitment, & Customer Services
- Works closely with the Company’s Marketing Department to promote programs and services to existing members and customers, and to potential new ones, through on-site promotion, email, social media channels and more
- Works with Marketing Department, and Tennis and Pickleball Departments, to implement and promote new programs and initiatives with the goal of maximizing member/customer satisfaction, retention and profitability
- Motivates coaches and other team members to promote products carried in pro shops including rackets/paddles, stringing, shoes and logo apparel
- Ensures highest quality customer/member service standards are met or exceeded
Financial Control
- Actively participates in budgeting and forecasting processes, on a monthly basis, and successfully manages to meet or exceed forecasted expectations and to ensure consistent profit and reasonable growth
- Manages so as to achieve the balance between maximizing profitability and providing first-class facilities, programs and services
- Compiles, prepares, analyzes, tracks daily, weekly, monthly and annual revenue and expense reports, and provides to others as needed
Administrative
- Audits daily appointments, invoices, transactions and deposits to ensure accuracy and revenue capture
- Reviews and analyzes sales, membership, usage, payroll and aged receivables reports regularly
- Approves any purchases, and codes all invoices to general ledger accounts, and submits payroll weekly
- Audits and ensures accuracy of daily appointments, transactions and deposits
- Audits and ensures accuracy of membership and program billing and usage reports
Physical Plant Oversight
- Maintains the site and its property and facilities, indoors and out, with the goal of delivering a consistently “5-star” environment for members and other customers
- Inspects site daily, with Director of Maintenance, to ensure quality of maintenance, housekeeping and facilities.
- Works with Director of Maintenance and Facilities & Engineering Department to address any problem areas promptly
- Creates work orders and/or produces daily/weekly punch lists, as needed, in partnership with the Director of Maintenance, to ensure maintenance and housekeeping issues are handled promptly and effectively
REQUIREMENTS and KSA’s
- 2+ years of previous management experience, including the supervision of at least 3 or more employees
- Experience working as a manager in a fitness or sports related environment is strongly preferred
- Strong interpersonal communication skills, including: coaching; giving clear and direct feedback; and positive mentoring with goal of continuous improvement
- Excellent computer skills
- Ability to communicate information efficiently and effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to meet deadlines under pressure
- Ability to maintain a professional composure in difficult situations
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to work with minimal oversight
- Ability to interface with multiple levels of leadership
- Ability to sit and stand for long periods of time
SCHEDULE: Full-time
SALARY: $80,000 - $90,000 per year

Member benefits- Employees receive complimentary Sportime membership and are eligible to use club facilities, including tennis, fitness and sports, to participate in club programs on a complimentary or discounted basis, and to receive discounts on retail and other purchases.
Health, dental and vision insurance - Full-Time employees are eligible to enroll in Sportime’s group health, dental and vision insurance plans on the first day of the month after they have worked 60 days. Premiums are deducted pre-tax from employees’ gross pay; Sportime contributes to the premiums of employees based upon gross pay thresholds.
401k Plan with employer match – Employees are eligible to enroll in Sportime’s 401k retirement plan, with matching, after they have completed one year of continuous service, worked at least 1000 hours in such calendar or anniversary year, and are over 21 years old.
