Duties Description
The Special Assistant will serve as the Chief Technology Officer with the NYS Division of Human Rights. Duties of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Manage Relationship with ITS Acting on Behalf of Executive Leadership to Represent Priorities and Strategy of the Agency
- Interface with ITS Dedicated Team (Deputy Commissioner for Technology and their designees)
- Coordinate Agency Resources and Guide the Definition of Business Requirements for IT Needs and Initiatives
- Prioritize and Filter Incident and Request Escalations from the Agency
- Coordinate Agency Business Testers When Necessary for IT Maintenance and Severity 1 and 2 Incident Resolution
- Coordinate IT Initiatives with Agency Resources such as:
- Equipment Refresh
- Onboarding and Offboarding Processes
- Operating System Upgrades
- Facilitate Communication with the Agency on IT Initiatives, Processes, Maintenance Notifications and Incident Response
- Determine Agency Needs for ITS Site Consultations
- Site Moves
- Network Upgrades
- Facilitate Agency Financial Approval of IT Expenses When Necessary
- Represent Agency Needs in the IT Change Management Process
- Participate in Project Governance
- Assist with Project Intake and Prioritization
- Ensure Completion of Business Cases, Demands, IT Investment Requests (ITIRs)
- Collaborate with ITS to Validate Potential IT Solutions, Resolve Problems or Fulfill Business Needs
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and seven (7) years of experience in information services or information technology. Three (3) years of this experience must be in a managerial role.
