Duties
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics using automotive diagnostics tools to identify issues accurately and efficiently.
- Conduct repairs on various vehicle systems, including engines, transmissions, electrical systems, and powertrains.
- Utilize schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical problems.
- Repair or replace vehicle components such as belts, hoses, brakes, suspensions, and steering systems with precision hand tools and power tools.
- Conduct wheel alignments and ADAS calibrations to ensure vehicle safety features function correctly.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, fluid checks, and brake inspections.
- Document all repairs thoroughly in service records and communicate findings clearly to customers or service advisors.
Experience
- Proven dealership experience or equivalent automotive service technician background.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in automotive repair across various makes and models.
- Familiarity with automotive electrical systems, schematics, and diagnostics tools.
- Experience working with C,D,J,R, Inc. vehicles or similar brands is a plus.
- Knowledge of diesel engine repair, transmissions, welding techniques, and vehicle maintenance procedures.
- New York State Inspection license preferred.
- Valid New York State Drivers License a must.
- Excellent customer service skills coupled with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to Service Advisors.
