About The Role
As a Fleet Manager, you will lead and oversee the strategic management and day-to-day operations of our fleet of vehicles. This role is essential for maintaining the efficiency, safety, and compliance of our transportation assets. The successful candidate will possess strong organizational and leadership skills, ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of the fleet while promoting a culture of safety and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities - Develop and implement comprehensive strategies for the effective management and utilization of the company's fleet.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations, including vehicle maintenance, fuel management, and scheduling.
- Coordinate routine maintenance schedules and inspections for all vehicles.
- Liaise with maintenance teams, service providers, and mechanics to ensure timely repairs and adherence to safety standards.
- Stay abreast of and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations governing fleet operations.
- Implement and enforce safety and environmental policies and procedures.
- Develop and manage the fleet budget, including expenses related to maintenance, fuel, and vehicle acquisition.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to optimize operational expenses.
- Utilize fleet management software and data analytics tools to monitor key performance indicators, track vehicle usage, and assess overall fleet performance.
- Generate regular reports on fleet efficiency, maintenance costs, and compliance.
- Manage the procurement of new vehicles, ensuring they align with the organization's needs and standards.
- Develop strategies for the disposal or replacement of aging vehicles, considering financial and environmental factors.
- Driver Training and Safety Programs:
- Implement driver training programs to enhance safety awareness and promote responsible driving behaviors.
- Conduct regular safety meetings and initiatives to reduce accidents and ensure the well-being of drivers.
- Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, service providers, and vendors.
- Negotiate contracts and service agreements to secure favorable terms and conditions.
- Ability to travel to other regional location as needed.
Key Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Logistics, or a related field.
- Proven experience in fleet management, logistics, or transportation operations.
- Strong understanding of fleet maintenance practices, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
- Proficient in fleet management software and data analysis tools.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with automotive technologies and trends.
- Ability travel 25%-30% as needed
