The Capital Region Chamber is seeking a dynamic Director of Talent Development to lead two influential initiatives: Leadership Capital Region and the Young Professionals Network (YPN). This is a highly visible, relationship‑driven role where you’ll design and deliver programming that strengthens leadership skills, inspires civic engagement, and builds a thriving talent pipeline for our region.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Leadership & Execution
- Manage Leadership Capital Region, a respected nine-month interactive skill development and community immersion program with a cohort of approximately 45 participants.
- Manage the Capital Region Young Professionals Network, which connects, develops, and empowers young professionals through professional development, networking, and community engagement.
- Design, curate, and facilitate high-quality educational content.
- Manage logistics, vendor partnerships, and participant experiences.
- Serve as primary facilitator and Chamber representative for sessions and external audiences for these initiatives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with sponsors and community partners to ensure program sustainability and growth.
- Develop and manage program budgets with strong financial accountability.
- Collaborate on promotional materials and outreach strategies to elevate initiatives.
- Measure and report program impact through metrics, feedback, and continuous improvement practices.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Volunteer Engagement
- Recruit, inspire, and collaborate with work volunteers who serve on committees shaping program content.
- Foster an environment where volunteers are heard, valued, and appreciated.
- Engage participants and alumni to maximize their impact on the region.
- Support committee facilitation and succession planning for sustained volunteer leadership.
Qualifications & Experience
- 5+ years of experience in program or project management, education delivery, talent development, or a related field.
- Proven success with executing programs and working with volunteers.
- Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to engage effectively with team members, business volunteers, and community partners.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.
- High attention to detail, strong organization skills, and comfort managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Financial acumen and experience managing budgets.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint).
Compensation: Salary range is $72,000 to $85,000. Benefits package includes PTO, generous 401(k), and health/life/LTD insurance. The Capital Region Chamber is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
