A well-established AAA regional affiliate is seeking an experienced Travel Agency Manager to lead its travel division in Albany, New York. Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of the travel agency division, ensuring efficient workflow and high-quality service delivery
- Manage, mentor, and develop a team of travel agents, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement
- Lead the implementation and integration of new booking software systems, ensuring smooth transition and staff adoption
- Monitor and evaluate staff performance, providing coaching and support to achieve individual and team goals
- Develop and maintain relationships with travel suppliers, vendors, and industry partners
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations, company policies, and quality standards
- Drive revenue growth through effective sales strategies and commission optimization
- Handle complex client inquiries and resolve escalated customer service issues
- Prepare reports on sales performance, operational metrics, and market trends
- Collaborate with leadership on strategic planning and business development initiatives
Requirements
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3-5 years of professional travel industry experience
- Previous supervisory or management experience in a travel agency or related hospitality environment
- Demonstrated proficiency with travel booking systems and reservation platforms
- Strong knowledge of domestic and international travel products, destinations, and industry trends
- Proven leadership abilities with experience managing and motivating teams
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Outstanding customer service orientation with problem-solving capabilities
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and CRM systems
- Ability to adapt to new technologies and software platforms
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with AAA travel services or membership-based organizations
- Certified Travel Associate (CTA) or Certified Travel Counselor (CTC) designation
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality, Tourism Management, Business Administration, or related field
- Experience implementing new software or technology systems in a travel environment
- Established network within the travel industry
