Editor & Studio Coach (Part-Time)
Location: Saratoga Springs, NY | Hourly Pay: Starting at $17.50/hour (with potential for a higher rate based on experience) | Department: Production
Bright Sighted Media is seeking a part-time Editor & Studio Coach to support our mission of helping creators, storytellers, and business owners shine—both on and off camera. This position blends hands-on studio setup with people-focused coaching and creative post-production editing.
We’re a small but fast-moving media company, so we’re looking for a motivated self-starter who’s equally comfortable coiling XLR cables as they are cheering someone on in front of the camera. You’ll work directly with podcast and video creators, helping them look and sound their best—while also editing short-form and long-form content between sessions.
What You’ll Do
Studio Support & Coaching (On-Set Duties)
- Set up and break down video and podcast recording sessions (lighting, cameras, tripods, microphones, etc.).
- Run audio cables (XLR), check sound levels, and monitor camera framing and lighting for best results.
- Guide on-camera talent with confidence and positivity—helping them feel comfortable and prepared.
- Troubleshoot common equipment or software issues before and during sessions.
- Keep the studio clean, organized, and client-ready.
Editing & Post-Production (Between Sessions)
- Edit podcast episodes (audio and/or video).
- Create social media shorts and YouTube-ready content using Adobe Premiere Pro or similar software.
- Collaborate with producers on timing, tone, pacing, and brand consistency for each project.
- Organize and manage project files and assets in accordance with studio workflows.
Who You Are
- A motivated self-starter who takes initiative and can keep up with a fast-paced production schedule.
- A positive, encouraging presence—someone who lifts others up and helps them feel seen.
- Tech-savvy with experience setting up basic AV equipment and using editing tools.
- Comfortable working independently, managing time, and juggling multiple tasks at once.
- A problem-solver who can stay calm and helpful in dynamic or unpredictable situations.
Requirements
- Experience with camera setup, lighting, and audio gear preferred (but we’ll train the right person).
- Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro or similar editing tools.
- Strong communication skills and an eye for detail.
- Ability to lift and move studio equipment (up to 40 lbs).
- Availability for weekday and occasional weekend shifts.
Compensation & Benefits
- This is a part-time, hourly position paid at $17.50/hour.
- This is a shift work job. We have a morning shift: 9am-1pm; and an afternoon shift: 1pm-5pm.
- Opportunity to build your production skills in a collaborative, empowering environment.
- A chance to work with a purpose-driven company committed to creative storytelling, community, and wellness.
