Board of Directors - Administrative Assistant
Overview
The position performs a variety of responsible and confidential administrative and clerical support duties ranging from the simple to the complex in support of the Board of Directors as directed by the Board of Directors. Hours flexible and to be negotiated based on board needs; Board Meeting attendance and note taking required up to two evenings per month.
Status: Part-time – 5-10 hours per week, $20/hour, Non Exempt
Supervisor: Secretary of the Board of Directors
Job Responsibilities
- Takes notes at Board meetings, at Membership Meetings, standard monthly Board work-sessions, and other meetings by request.
- Uses word processing and printing software and equipment to create, copy, edit, move material, make insertions or deletions, retrieve and print a variety of data. Takes notes; creates, distributes, and revises minutes based on feedback as assigned.
- Creates and distributes an “Action Items” list within 48 hours of the board meetings.
- Maintains strict confidentiality regarding Board business.
- Other administrative duties as required and assigned by the Board of Directors. Qualifications: Experience: Previous experience in office work and/or experience in taking meeting notes/minutes. Knowledge Required:
- Experience with and knowledge of word processing, email, and internet research tools.
- Working knowledge and understanding of HWFC Bylaws, Board Manual, Employee Manual, Member-Owner Manual, and Food & Product Manual.

- Excellent grammar, communication and organizational skills.

- Ability to maintain a professional approach in tone and tenor and a cooperative/collegial demeanor.
- Accurate typing and self-proofing skills.
- Attention to detail
- Ability to follow oral and written directions.
- Ability to work effectively with others as well as independently.
- Proven understanding of principles of confidentiality.

- Ability to produce minutes in a timely fashion and incorporate (sometimes conflicting) feedback
- Experience working in an environment with diverse and wide ranging opinions
- Proficient in word processing and electronic document sharing
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Availability to maintain documents in store as needed
