Position Overview
Rolin Fields LLC is seeking an energetic, knowledgeable, and community-focused Part-Time Pickleball Instructor to join our growing team. This role is ideal for an individual who is passionate about teaching the game of pickleball while creating an engaging and inclusive environment for players of all ages and skill levels.
The Pickleball Instructor will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction, assisting with leagues and tournaments, supporting club programming, and helping grow participation and membership engagement across the facility. Candidates should possess strong communication skills, professionalism, and the ability to foster a welcoming atmosphere both on and off the court.
Key ResponsibilitiesOn-Court Instruction & Player DevelopmentSkill Development
- Teach and develop players ranging from beginners and recreational participants to advanced competitors.
- Instruct players on fundamental and advanced pickleball skills including:
- Stroke mechanics
- Footwork and movement
- Court positioning
- Shot selection
- Match strategy and gameplay tactics
- Design engaging drills and lesson plans tailored to various age groups and ability levels.
- Provide constructive feedback that helps players improve confidence, technique, and consistency.
Demonstration & Coaching Presence
- Consistently demonstrate drills, techniques, and game situations with proper mechanics and professionalism.
- Serve as a strong visual learning aid for students by modeling correct form and gameplay execution.
- Maintain a positive and motivating coaching style that encourages player development and enjoyment of the sport.
Safety & Court Environment
- Monitor player health and wellness during sessions and respond appropriately to injuries or emergencies.
- Ensure courts and surrounding areas remain clean, organized, and free of hazards.
- Promote sportsmanship, inclusion, and respectful conduct among all participants.
- Create a welcoming environment that encourages players of all backgrounds and skill levels to participate confidently.
Collaboration with ManagementProgramming & Scheduling
- Work closely with the Head Pro, Recreation Coordinator, and/or General Manager to develop and maintain pickleball programming calendars.
- Assist with organizing:
- Clinics
- Private lessons
- Open play sessions
- Round robins
- Leagues and tournaments
- Support efforts to maximize court usage and program participation.
Sales & Member Retention
- Promote private instruction, lesson packages, and facility memberships to players and guests.
- Encourage students to participate in leagues, tournaments, social events, and other club programming.
- Build strong relationships with members to increase retention and repeat participation.
Software & Booking Management
- Utilize club management platforms such as Playbypoint, CourtReserve, Pickle Spot, or similar systems to:
- Track attendance
- Manage lesson rosters
- Schedule courts
- Process or assist with transactions
- Maintain accurate records and communicate schedule changes effectively.
Administrative Reporting
- Complete attendance records and submit required reports in a timely manner.
- Report incidents, accidents, equipment damage, or maintenance concerns to management promptly.
- Assist with inventory organization and proper storage of instructional equipment.
Integration with Internal Programs & EventsTournaments & Leagues
- Assist in organizing and operating tournaments, weekly leagues, ladder leagues, and round-robin events.
- Help referee or oversee matches while ensuring fair play and positive participant experiences.
- Support event setup, player communication, and scheduling logistics.
Community Building
- Facilitate open play rotations and help integrate new players into the club community.
- Foster an engaging and social atmosphere that encourages repeat visits and long-term participation.
- Represent Rolin Fields LLC with professionalism and enthusiasm at all times.
Corporate & Team-Building Events
- Assist management with hosting corporate outings, private group events, and customized team-building clinics.
- Lead structured activities and game formats designed for larger groups and varying skill levels.
Cross-Promotion of Facility Services
- Collaborate with other sports, wellness, and fitness departments within the facility to cross-promote programs and services.
- Encourage pickleball participants to engage in complementary offerings such as:
- Fitness training
- Yoga and recovery programs
- Youth programming
- Other recreational services
Qualifications & ExpectationsPreferred Qualifications
- Previous experience teaching or coaching pickleball, tennis, racquet sports, or group fitness programs preferred.
- Strong knowledge of pickleball rules, gameplay strategy, and instructional techniques.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
Certifications
The following certifications are highly valued:
- IPTPA Certification
- PPR Certification
- USAPA/USA Pickleball Coaching Certification
- CPR and First Aid Certification (current or willingness to obtain)

Schedule & Availability
- Flexible part-time schedule including evenings, weekends, and occasional special events or tournaments.
- Hours will vary based on programming needs, lesson bookings, and seasonal demand.
Compensation
- $25–$30 per hour, depending on experience, certifications, and instructional background.
