The Director of Talent Acquisition is a strategic leader responsible for shaping and executing the organization’s talent strategy to meet current and future workforce needs. This role partners closely with senior leadership to attract, engage, and retain high-quality talent across all service lines. The Director leads the Talent Acquisition function, ensuring scalable, efficient, and compliant recruitment practices while enhancing the candidate and hiring manager experience. This position plays a critical role in strengthening the Center’s reputation as an employer of choice within the region and the human services sector.
The
Director of Talent Acquisition is also responsible for leading and enhancing the organization’s onboarding experience and early employee engagement strategy. This includes designing and overseeing a structured onboarding process that supports new hires through their first 90 days, ensuring a seamless transition into the organization. The Director partners with HR and operational leaders to drive early engagement, improve retention outcomes, and align onboarding practices with the Center’s mission, values, and performance expectations. Using data and feedback, this role continuously evaluates and refines onboarding and early tenure experiences to strengthen employee connection, productivity, and long-term success.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and execute a multi-year talent acquisition strategy aligned with organizational growth goals
- Partner with executive leadership on workforce planning, talent forecasting, and succession pipelines
- Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) including time-to-fill, quality of hire, and retention
- Lead employer branding strategy in collaboration with Marketing
- This role is accountable for improving early tenure retention and new hire experience metrics across the organization.
Team Leadership & Development
- Provide leadership, coaching, and development to the Talent Acquisition team
- Build organizational capability in recruiting, interviewing, and selection practices
- Set clear performance expectations and accountability measures
Operational Excellence
- Oversee recruitment operations to ensure efficiency, consistency, and compliance
- Drive process improvements across sourcing, selection, and onboarding
- Implement scalable systems, tools, and technology to support hiring needs
Stakeholder Partnership
- Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders on talent strategy and hiring decisions
- Collaborate with HR leadership on compensation alignment and hiring practices
- Partner with department leaders to deeply understand workforce needs
Data & Analytics
- Deliver actionable insights on labor market trends, hiring outcomes, and workforce metrics
- Use data to inform strategy and improve recruiting effectiveness
Employer Branding & Community Engagement
- Elevate the organization’s presence in the labor market
- Build partnerships with schools, workforce programs, and community organizations
- Represent the organization at key recruiting and industry events
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required
- Master’s degree or HR certification (SHRM-SCP, SPHR) preferred
Experience
- 3–5+ years of progressive experience in talent acquisition or HR
- 3–5+ years in a leadership role
- Experience building and scaling recruitment strategies in complex organizations
Compensation Range
$85,000.00 - $105,000.00
