Qualifications
Education & Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or a related field preferred.
Physical requirements:
- Open availability and flexible
- Medium work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
- Ability to stand during entire shift.
General Requirements:
- Must be able to effectively communicate verbally with all level of employees and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service oriented manner.
- Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying concerns raised by employees and guests.
- Must follow the Hampton Inn cleanliness brand standard (Deep Cleaning and also chemical use)
- Must be able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines.
- Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service-oriented manner.
- Attend all hotel required meetings and trainings.
- Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which includes wearing the proper uniform and nametag.
- Comply with Hampton Inn and Suites Brand Standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
- Maximize efforts towards productivity, identify problem areas and assist in implementing solutions.
Duties
- Thoroughly clean and sanitize guest rooms, including making beds, dusting, vacuuming, and replenishing amenities to meet high standards of cleanliness
- Employees must always be attentive, friendly, helpful and courteous to all guests, managers and fellow employees.
- Perform floor care duties such as mopping, sweeping, and polishing to maintain pristine surfaces throughout the hotel
- Complete all pre-cleaning duties, including but not limited to, guest supplies, cleaning supplies, and linen for housekeeping cart set-up and Closets
- Remove all trash and dirty linen from guestrooms and hallways.
- Keep all hallways, public areas and closets clean, neat and vacuumed (if applicable).
- Handle laundry tasks efficiently, including washing, folding, and organizing linens and towels
- Remove all trash and dirty linen from guestrooms and hallways.
- Restock supplies like toiletries, linens, and minibar items to ensure guest comfort at all times
- Report any maintenance issues or damages promptly to ensure swift resolution and uphold safety standards
- Report all missing items from room (i.e., irons/boards, hair dryers, etc.) to Housekeeping Supervisor/Manager.
- Follow health and safety protocols diligently to maintain a hygienic environment for guests and staff
- Assist with general janitorial duties around common areas to support overall cleanliness of the hotel
- Handle items for “Lost and Found” according to the standards.
- Follow the Brand Standard cleaning checklist “Deep Clean” and “Clean The World”
Skills
- Proven experience in cleaning, custodial work or janitorial services within a hotel or hospitality environment
- Strong knowledge of floor care techniques and industrial cleaning equipment
- Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to delivering exceptional guest service
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced setting
- Familiarity with hospitality standards and procedures for maintaining cleanliness and safety
- Good physical stamina to stand, bend, lift, and perform cleaning tasks for extended periods
- Prior housekeeping management experience is a plus for those interested in supervisory roles
