Role Description
This is a local role in the Hamptons area of Long Island, NY, for an Executive Director of the Hampton Museum. The role involves strategic management of museum operations, overseeing educational initiatives, developing and implementing long-term plans to further the museum's mission, and fostering stakeholder relationships. The Executive Director will also address conservation issues, engage in public relations to enhance visibility, and ensure the institution's programs align with the principles of cultural stewardship.
Qualifications
- Keen understanding of Museum Education and a strong foundation in History to deliver meaningful programs and exhibitions
- Proficiency in Strategic Planning to effectively oversee organizational goals and guide the institution's growth
- Knowledge of Conservation Issues to ensure the preservation of artworks and adherence to museum standards
- Expertise in Public Relations to cultivate community engagement and elevate the museum's profile
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and decision-making skills
- Proven experience in managing cultural or historical institutions is beneficial
- A degree in Museum Studies, Art History, Public Administration, or a related field
