Overview:
We are seeking a Java Developer who will support our client. This role involves designing, developing, and deploying scalable, high-performance Java applications within an Agile/Scrum environment. The Java Developer will work closely with cross-functional teams—architects, testers, and business analysts—under the guidance of senior technical leads to deliver high-quality solutions that meet state and federal compliance standards.
Duties
- Design, develop, and implement complex, high-volume, and low-latency Java applications.
- Analyze current systems, determine technical requirements, and deliver solutions aligned with business objectives.
- Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to define application goals, features, and functionality.
- Contribute to all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), from requirements to deployment and maintenance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges, including complex production issues (e.g., memory leaks, performance bottlenecks).
- Recommend and implement upgrades to improve system performance, scalability, and maintainability.
- Support deployment of new features, ensuring successful integration and system stability.
- Create and maintain comprehensive technical and user documentation.
- Stay current with emerging technologies, best practices, and industry trends to drive continuous innovation.
Mandatory Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience as a Developer.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 4+ years of experience as a Java developer including experience in Java/J2EE and object-oriented programming (OOP) principles, design patterns, and SOLID principles.
- 4+ years of experience with popular frameworks, particularly Spring (Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security) and ORM technologies like Hibernate or JPA.
- 4+ years of experience designing, building, and maintaining microservices architectures and RESTful APIs.More than 7 years of experience with relational databases (e.g., Oracle, PostgreSQL) and SQL, as well as experience with NoSQL databases.
- 4+ years of experience with testing frameworks (e.g., JUnit, Mockito) and proficiency with build tools like Maven or Gradle.
- 4+ years of experience with major cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP, including an understanding of containerization with Docker and Kubernetes.
- 4+ years of experience with DevOps principles and experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins.
- 2+ years of experience working in a federal or state government setting (Health and Human Services, especially in Integrated Eligibility System programs such as PA, TA, SNAP, HEAP, Fair Hearings, Child Support, etc. Preferred.
