Description
Salary Range: $70,000-$75,000/year
Position Summary
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The IT Specialist is responsible for maintaining day-to-day IT operations and deploying special IT projects in order to meet the needs of the growing organization and its users.

Essential Functions
- Operations: Maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot day-to-day IT operations issues.
- User Support: Provide assistance & support to end users for tier 2 systems/infrastructure issues.
- Projects: Research, evaluate, and deploy IT systems solutions, infrastructure projects, and systems updates/upgrades.
Special Projects
- Evaluate wireless bridge technology to provide Wi-Fi service to an outdoor pavilion
- Evaluate content management systems for in-house digital display signage
- Evaluate content management systems for virtual fitness classes that can link with a CRM
- Evaluate centralized password manager solutions to be deployed to all YMCA staff.
- Evaluate, configure, and deploy remote VPN access for staff
- Research & deploy a centralized systems monitoring solution for IT dept
- Reconfigure guest Wi-Fi networks into a managed device VLAN and a BYOD VLAN.
- Modernize & digitize faxing systems
- Centrally deploy Microsoft Teams to all workstations
- Evaluate browser extensions and deploy default settings for them.
- Assist with the transition to Windows 11

Requirements
- Degree in IT or related field or relevant certifications and/or experience required.
- 3-5 years of experience in similar or related IT roles.
- Technical proficiency with:
- On-premise network infrastructure (firewalls, switches, wireless access points, subnets, VLANs, DHCP)
- Windows domain server environments (including Active Directory, Group Policy, and Windows clients)
- Android/iOS mobile device management systems
- SaaS & cloud platforms (particularly Microsoft cloud products)
- Problem-solving skills, such as interpreting, troubleshooting, and research technical problems and error messages
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize service calls, issues, and projects
- Must be organized, reliable, diligent, and willing to learn.
- Must be able to research, evaluate, and compare IT tools, products, and solutions.
- Must be able to utilize online resources & discussion platforms for troubleshooting and research.
- Must be able to work independently on assigned tasks and service calls.
- Must be able to clearly communicate with both IT staff and end-users.
- Must have a driver’s license, personal vehicle, and clean driving record for traveling between facilities (vehicle mileage will be compensated).
