Description
The New York State Workers Compensation Board requires a Quality Assurance Tester for On Board limited release and Onboard Full release & Legacy Programs.
Role
The New York State Workers’ Compensation Board (WCB) is undertaking a multi-year effort to redefine its role in the Workers’ Compensation system, improve access to quality medical care and improve the underlying technology systems that support the organization. These goals challenge many of the fundamental operating assumptions that the Board has maintained for decades. To accomplish this effort, the Board has established a WCB OBFR Program as the vehicle for change. Within this program, the Board will sponsor a host of projects that will each support a specific goal toward the overarching objectives of the program. At its highest level, the redesign of the Workers’ Compensation Board will help Injured Workers’ Employers, Providers, and Payors. The objectives of the Modernization Program include:
- Change the role of the WCB in protecting the rights of injured workers.
- Increase the availability of quality medical care.
- Modernize the technology that supports the functions of the Board.
The modernization and legislative initiatives will create several parallel projects, and a Quality Assurance Tester is needed to assist with the implementation and roll out of these projects. QA tester expert will lead testing efforts for WCB applications\Projects to uncover and investigate defects, identify root causes, generate reports and share with WCB ITS Business solutions and other stake holders. Assess the overall quality of application by performing manual, automated, performance tests using various QA tools.
Duties
- Create and maintain Test plans, Test strategy documents, Test scripts, Tests, Test scenarios, Test matrices for WCB Applications
- Perform Test and Defect Management using tools like HP ALM and or JIRA
- Assist and provide QA activities through all phases of the system development life cycle and ensure Testing milestones and dates are met.
- Perform Test execution & Analyzing Test results and Reporting.
- Estimate test effort for projects and provide estimations. Plan to ensure testing milestones and dates are met.
- Perform back-end Testing, Data Validation, Data Analysis, Data migration and execute SQL queries.
Mandatory Requirements
- Experience (8+ Years)
- Conducts automated and manual tests to ensure that the software created/upgraded performs as necessary and meets the user requirements. Develops and maintains user and technical documentation and project process documentation for application teams. Understands the view of applications and/or technology and is able to put procedures in a logical sequence.
Requirements
- This is an 100% Onsite
- 72 Months experience with Business Requirements Priority Matrix, Business Requirements Document, Gap Analysis Document and validate and verify the requirements for complex changes to WCB current business processes, policies and information systems
- 72 Months of QA experience planning, designing, developing, and executing test plans, test cases, test scripts & Manage defects using tools such as HP ALM or JIRA.
- 60 Months experience as a QA team lead with expertise in handling multiple projects simultaneously.
- 36 Months of experience in performing back-end Testing, Data Validation, Data Analysis, Data migration and execute SQL queries.
- 12 Months experience in system testing ,with knowledge of WCB applications and expertise in WCB systems.
