NYS Information Technology Services (ITS) is seeking a
Business Analyst Senior
Specific tasks will include:
- Analyze system documentation and system artifacts to develop an understanding of the associated business process.
- Elicit business system requirements using one or more of the following methods: analyze current processes, interview users, conduct group meetings, review/analyze existing documentation or system artifacts.
- Document and analyze 'as is' and 'to be' business processes.
- Develop or maintain high-level and detailed system requirements in the form of clear business requirements documents, context diagrams, process flow diagrams, data dictionaries, and use cases.
- Develop or maintain test plans and detailed test cases.
- Develop or maintain user acceptance testing plans and help desk support guides.
- Develop detailed functional and system tests from documented system requirements. Ensure appropriate test coverage by mapping system requirements to test cases.
- Develop or contribute to the development of regression tests and/or user acceptance tests.
- Execute functional and system tests, including regression tests. Participate in user acceptance testing.
- Identify and document application defects and track to resolution, performing retesting as required.
- Identify and document deficiencies in system documentation (e.g., missing or ambiguous requirements) identified during the testing process.
- Respond and work-through incident tickets submitted by users of business applications.
Requested Qualifications:
- 60 months experience eliciting business requirements from business customers or system artifacts and maintaining such requirements.
- 60 months experience developing business requirements and process documentation such as use cases, process flows, screen mock-ups, and data dictionaries.
- 60 months experience creating test plans and test cases, executing functional and system tests including regression tests. Ensure appropriate test coverage by mapping system requirements to test cases.
- 60 months identifying and documenting application defects, tracking defects to resolution, and performing retesting as required.
- 60 months of supporting business applications in a help-desk type environment.
Work hours and location:
- Full time role with engagement length of 21 months
- Daily work hours: 8-hour days with 1/2-hour lunch (negotiable between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm)
- Physical office location: 80 S. Swan Street, Albany, NY, 12210
- Telecommuting options: Must be at least 50% at physical work building (no exceptions)
