The Opportunity

In this role, you will report to the Territory Area Manager and will work closely with the Avantor’s Advanced Laboratory Services professionals to serve our customers by performing customized, mission-based lab work and research protocols that help return time back to science.

Location: Tarrytown, NY

Shift: Monday – Friday (1st shift)- Hybrid role

Hourly Rate: $30- $32 (bi-weekly)

Education

What we’re looking for:

High school diploma or GED required.
Undergraduate degree in business or science related field is preferred. Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Supply Chain Logistics or a related field is desirable.

Experience

1–2 years of experience in procurement, order management, or business operations required.
3+ years of experience in purchasing, account management, or data analysis preferred.
Strong skills in Microsoft Excel (expert level); experience with SAP and ERP systems is a plus.
Familiarity with data tools like SQL, Python, R, Tableau, or Power BI preferred.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work independently or in a team.
Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and data integrity.
Understanding of contracts and formal problem-solving methods is a plus.
Self-motivated, adaptable, and forward-thinking.

How You Will Thrive And Create An Impact

Avantor’s Advanced Laboratory Services team is a crucial part of the Avantor Services group serving over 500 customers in biopharma, pharmaceutical, educational, industrial, and high-tech industries with customizable, flexible solutions and end-to-end laboratory operations support. In this role you will:

Data Analysis & Reporting
- Collect, analyze, and interpret large datasets from multiple sources to support business decisions.
- Develop and maintain data models, dashboards, and reports to support material planning, open orders, KPIs, and other operational metrics.
- Identify trends, anomalies, and actionable insights through data analysis.
- Ensure data accuracy and integrity through regular quality checks.
- Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders in a clear, concise, and actionable format.

Inventory & Supplier Management
- Serve as the primary liaison with suppliers, fostering strong relationships and ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Apply deep knowledge of inventory management to identify cost-saving opportunities and optimize stock levels.
- Monitor inventory to prevent stockouts and respond swiftly to supply chain disruptions.
- Analyze supplier performance and inventory data to support planning and continuous improvement.
- Design and implement efficient inventory and supply chain processes.

Operational Support & Process Improvement
- Support expert-level control and execution of inventory programs, including consumables, chemicals, and samples.
- Collaborate with production and manufacturing teams to understand demand forecasts and schedule material accordingly.
- Enter and maintain inventory, purchasing, and quality control data in both internal and customer systems.
- Assist with third-party vendor and item setup, standing order maintenance, and contract interpretation.
- Provide audit support and general customer service, including order processing, quotes, returns, and billing resolution.
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.

Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand data and operational needs, delivering tailored solutions.
- Act as a bridge between customers and suppliers for product sourcing and issue resolution.
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned to support business operations and customer satisfaction.

Pay Transparency

The expected pre-tax pay for this position is

$54,600.00 - $91,000.00

Actual pay may differ depending on relevant factors such as prior experience and geographic location.
