Kinderhook Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our skilled and dedicated team. We are a well-established small animal practice focused on delivering high-quality medical and surgical care to dogs and cats in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities:

Assist veterinarians during examinations, procedures, and surgeries
Safely handle and restrain dogs and cats for treatments and diagnostics
Administer prescribed medications under supervision
Prepare, clean, and maintain exam rooms, equipment, and surgical areas
Collect and process laboratory samples (blood, urine, fecal, etc.)
Accurately maintain patient medical records
Assist in patient monitoring and general care during hospital stays
Communicate effectively with clients and team members

Requirements:

Minimum 1 year of experience as a Veterinary Assistant is required
Proficient in handling and restraining dogs and cats
High school diploma or equivalent
Strong communication and organizational skills
Ability to work efficiently as part of a team in a clinical setting
