Duties Description

Join the web team in the Communications Office of the Office of the New York State Comptroller to help write and manage content for the agency’s public-facing website, osc.ny.gov. Incumbent will create, edit and review web pages to ensure content meets agency’s editorial, accessibility and design standards; help build and edit page templates and web forms; perform QA testing on new features, bug fixes and system upgrades for the website; and assist in special projects that improve the customer experience for external or internal audiences.

Minimum Qualifications

To be appointed to this position, you must have:

Six years of experience in public relations, social media, and digital communications

Associate’s, bachelor’s, or master’s degree in communications, English, Public Relations, Social Media, Digital Communications, or similar degree, substitutes for two, four, or five years.

An understanding of digital technologies, web/UX design and accessibility

Telecommuting: The Office of the New York State Comptroller (OSC) supports telecommuting where it is reasonable to do so based upon the agency’s mission and operational needs. Generally, employees new to OSC will be restricted from telecommuting for at least 8 calendar weeks. After the initial 8 calendar week restriction, if an employee’s primary residence location, duties, and work performance are aligned with telecommuting and operational needs they may be allowed to do so. Generally, OSC employees may telecommute up to 5 days per pay period but may be approved to telecommute less.
