WMHT Educational Telecommunications is a multichannel public communications organization that goes beyond the traditional broadcasting model to lead by convening arts, culture, learning, and civic interests. Located in New York’s Capital Region, WMHT serves diverse communities from the Mid-Hudson Valley to the Berkshires, including portions of Vermont and Connecticut, reaching more than 1 million people. Position Summary:
We are seeking an energetic, effective individual with a proven track record in sales leadership, strategic planning, and team management, with strong writing and interpersonal skills, to help WMHT grow its corporate partnership/sponsorship efforts.
The Director, Corporate Partnerships, will play a vital role in supporting WMHT Public Media’s mission by leading the sales team to secure revenue for television, radio, and digital properties.
The Director, Corporate Partnerships, will be responsible for developing and executing strategic initiatives that drive revenue growth, cultivate new client relationships, nurture existing partnerships, and support corporate funding initiatives. This leadership role oversees a team of Account Executives and is responsible for developing and executing strategies to drive team success. This position is accountable for sales forecasting, pipeline management, performance metrics, and ensuring the team consistently meets or exceeds revenue targets.
Successful candidates will possess strong leadership, strategic planning, negotiation, and relationship management skills with a proven ability to drive sales growth and be committed to supporting WMHT Public Media's mission and vision.
Essential Job Functions:
- Lead, coach, and manage the sales team to achieve individual and team performance goals.
- Establish sales targets, monitor progress, and hold team members accountable for results.
- Manage key client relationships and oversee major account development and retention efforts.
- Create a comprehensive sales strategy to achieve revenue and growth objectives.
- Overseeing sales operations, including sales forecasting, pipeline management, and CRM optimization.
- Setting sales goals and performance metrics to track progress and drive accountability.
- Secure corporate funding for programming on WMHT-FM, WRHV-FM, WEXT-FM, WMHT-TV, RISE, Events, and digital platforms.
- Build and maintain relationships with new corporate clients.
- Create compelling proposals for clients.
- Assist in developing client messaging.
- Ensure Account Executives consistently meet or exceed revenue targets and service expectations.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders across the organization.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Commitment to the mission and goals of public broadcasting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work cooperatively with people at all levels in the organization, and to meet deadlines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Docs, and Salesforce.
- Experience in developing and creating a CRM process, sales forecasting, pipeline management, and performance management.
- Key account management and customer relationship best practices.

Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or related field.
- 5+ years of sales experience, with at least 2 years of those years in a leadership or director role.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 25 lbs., carry out frequent reaching, stretching, twisting, and bending. Standing for up to two hours at a time and sitting for extended periods.
- Local and regional travel required. Up to 50%.
- This role is Hybrid after the completion of the introductory period.
- A valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and good driving record are required for all WMHT positions.

Pay: $100,000 + 25% Bonus
