About the Role
We are seeking to hire two dynamic Senior Vice Presidents with 10+ years of New York State government relations, public policy, or lobbying experience to join our growing team. This senior-level position will lead client engagements, manage teams, develop advocacy strategies, and drive results on behalf of a diverse portfolio of clients.
The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of New York State government, a proven ability to build relationships with policymakers and stakeholders, and a track record of delivering meaningful outcomes through legislative, regulatory, budgetary, and procurement advocacy.
Job Responsibilities
-- Serve as lead strategist and day-to-day contact for a portfolio of client accounts across multiple sectors and policy areas.
-- Develop and execute comprehensive government relations strategies to advance client objectives through legislative, regulatory, budgetary, and procurement processes.
-- Manage and grow client relationships while supporting business development efforts and identifying opportunities for new engagements.
-- Build and maintain high-level relationships with the Governor's Office, Legislature, state agencies, authorities, and key stakeholders.
--Represent clients at the Capitol, public hearings, agency meetings, conferences, and stakeholder forums.
--Monitor legislative, regulatory, and budget developments, providing clients with timely analysis and strategic guidance.
--Identify opportunities for coalition building, thought leadership, and stakeholder engagement to advance client priorities.
--Mentor and lead Vice Presidents, Legislative Analysts, and other team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture.
-- Contribute to firm-wide strategic planning and help strengthen Ostroff Associates' position as a leader in government relations and public affairs.
Qualifications
--10+ years of experience in government relations, public policy, lobbying, state government, or a related field.
--Deep understanding of New York State government, including legislative, regulatory, budget, and procurement processes.
--Proven record of success advancing policy, funding, regulatory, or business objectives through government affairs strategies.
--Strong network of relationships across state government, agencies, associations, and stakeholder communities.
--Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage clients, policymakers, and industry leaders.
