Overview:
Tech Valley Talent (TVT) invites experienced project managers to join a critical initiative supporting New York State’s energy transition. As a Project Manager within Client’s Building Strategy & Planning team, you will be pivotal in developing and executing the Thermal Energy Networks (TENs) Roadmap. This role combines complex project management, stakeholder engagement, and strategic communication, all aimed at advancing low-emission district heating and cooling solutions across New York State. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive project management support, including work planning, progress tracking, meeting coordination, and note-taking for the TENs Roadmap initiative.
- Assist in organizing, analyzing, and maintaining a database of international TENs projects and identifying emerging trends in the field.
- Collaborate with the Client Program Manager to develop and implement stakeholder engagement strategies, including scheduling meetings, preparing content, and documenting outcomes.
- Support research activities by overseeing consultant research projects, reviewing analytic outputs, and ensuring key stakeholders are involved in decision-making processes.
- Perform copyediting and proofreading for all stakeholder-facing and public materials, ensuring clarity, professionalism, and consistency.
- Contribute to the overall success of the Building Strategy & Planning team by participating in additional assigned tasks aligned with key project goals.
Required Skills:
- Proven ability to manage complex energy or infrastructure projects, especially those involving multi-stakeholder coordination.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to communicate with diverse audiences, including technical and non-technical groups.
- Strong written communication skills, including copyediting, proofreading, and presentation development.
- Highly organized with meticulous attention to detail and effective time management.
- Demonstrated critical thinking, problem-solving aptitude, and a proactive, collaborative work style.
- Familiarity with energy systems, building decarbonization, and related policies or regulations is highly preferred.
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience working within government agencies, energy utilities, or environmental organizations.
- Knowledge of Thermal Energy Networks, community energy frameworks, geothermal, waste heat reuse, or local energy planning.
- Advanced proficiency in project management tools and stakeholder engagement platforms.
- Certifications such as PMP or relevant energy sector credentials.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in energy, environmental science, engineering, or related fields required.
- Advanced degree (e.g., Master’s, PhD) and/or at least 3-5 years of relevant experience preferred.
Other Requirements:
- Ability and willingness to support remote work, with occasional travel as needed (2-3 times a year).
- Prior experience with data analysis or research oversight is advantageous.
