Paint Booth Operator
Position Overview
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Coating & Paint Operator. This position is responsible for surface preparation, epoxy and industrial coating application, equipment upkeep, and maintaining production documentation in a safety-first environment. You will play a key role in supporting our high-quality standards in production and finishing operations.
Hours: 6AM-2:30PM (M-F) Overtime Available.
Key Responsibilities
1. Surface Preparation and Coating
- Clean and prepare valve bodies and parts according to specifications.
- Mix and apply two-part epoxy and other industrial coatings per manufacturer instructions.
- Use a variety of application methods, including spraying, brushing, and sandblasting.
2. Respirator Use and Maintenance
- Properly fit, wear, and maintain respirator equipment.
- Clean, disinfect, and store powder spray equipment appropriately.
- Follow OSHA guidelines and company safety procedures.
3. Equipment Maintenance
- Maintain cleanliness and functionality of the paint booth.
- Follow a scheduled maintenance plan for painting equipment.
- Adhere to all safety protocols set by the company and OSHA.
4. Production Documentation
- Accurately complete production records and paperwork.
5. Inventory Management
- Monitor and manage inventory of coating supplies.
- Notify Purchasing or the Plant Manager when materials need replenishment.
6. ISO Compliance
- Support and maintain requirements for ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards.
7. Other Duties
- Perform additional tasks as needed, including non-coating-related work.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Forklift Certification preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to multitask.
- Physically capable of lifting up to 40 lbs.
