We are working with a client who is looking for a skilled Financial Analyst to join their team in Schenectady, New York. In this role, you will play a key part in supporting strategic financial decisions by providing accurate analysis, performance reporting, and actionable insights. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative environment, possess strong analytical skills, and excel at interpreting financial data to drive business success. This direct-hire role offers a flexible hybrid schedule after an initial training period.
Responsibilities:
• Conduct comprehensive cost analyses, including standard costing, variance analysis, and margin evaluation.
• Develop and oversee budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial plans to support organizational goals.
• Prepare detailed reports and actionable insights on financial performance for senior management.
• Collaborate with operational teams and leadership to identify cost drivers and recommend strategies to enhance profitability.
• Support the month-end close process by comparing actual financial data against budget and forecast projections.
• Perform ad hoc financial analyses to address specific business questions and challenges.
• Leverage data mining techniques to identify trends and opportunities within financial data.
• Assist in the refinement of financial models to improve forecasting accuracy and decision-making.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure financial strategies align with overall business objectives.
Salary Range: $60,000 - $80,000
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a closely related field.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in financial analysis, with an emphasis on cost accounting preferred.
• Proficiency in advanced Excel functions and financial modeling techniques.
• Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
• Strong communication abilities to effectively collaborate with teams and present findings.
• Experience with data mining tools and techniques for extracting relevant insights.
• Solid understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
