We're hiring: Director of Hospitality at The Ilium in Troy, NY
The Ilium is a historic building in downtown Troy that we're turning into a full-service hospitality destination. Under one roof, we've got a craft cocktail bar and brewery, 28 boutique guest rooms, a wellness spa, a co-working lounge, and Evermore Hall — our premier wedding and event venue on the top floor.
We're looking for a Director of Hospitality to take ownership of the hotel and guest experience side of the building. You'll be the person responsible for making sure our rooms are booked, our guests are taken care of, and every piece of the hospitality operation runs the way it should — coordinating across our bar, brewery, venue, and spa to make it all feel like one cohesive experience.
This isn't a maintain-what-exists role. You'll be building it from scratch — writing the playbook, hiring the team, choosing the systems, and setting the standard.
What you'd own: → 28 boutique guest rooms — operations, revenue, pricing, sales channels → Housekeeping — hiring, training, standards, scheduling → Full guest experience — booking to checkout and everything in between → Spa and co-working lounge — launch, programming, revenue → Coordination across the building — bar, brewery, venue, marketing → Technology and systems — PMS, channel management, guest messaging
What we're looking for: → 3–7+ years in hotel ops, boutique hospitality, or lodging management → Experience managing rooms, housekeeping, and front-of-house → Revenue management and OTA channel experience → An entrepreneurial mindset — you want to build, not just manage
Flexible schedule required (evenings, weekends, holidays). Troy, NY or willing to relocate.
