About the Role
The Manufacturing Operations Analyst supports day-to-day production and materials activities by analyzing operational data and assisting with production planning efforts. This role works closely with manufacturing, supply chain, and procurement teams to help maintain smooth production flow and ensure materials are positioned to meet customer demand. The ideal candidate enjoys working with data, identifying patterns, and contributing to process improvements that strengthen delivery performance and operational reliability.
Responsibilities
Data & Performance Analysis
- Gather and consolidate data related to production output, inventory levels, and operational performance
- Review metrics to uncover trends impacting efficiency, cost, delivery performance, and resource utilization
- Generate recurring and ad hoc reports to support operational decision-making
- Monitor key indicators such as labor utilization, capacity constraints, and throughput
- Production Planning Support
- Assist with evaluating demand forecasts and production capacity
- Support the development of production schedules and planning scenarios
- Flag potential risks including material shortages, bottlenecks, or scheduling conflicts
- Collaborate with planners to help maintain alignment between demand and production output
- Materials & Supply Chain Coordination
- Partner with procurement and supply chain teams to monitor raw material availability
- Track supplier performance, lead times, and inventory requirements
- Identify risks related to supply interruptions or stock imbalances
- Participate in planning meetings focused on materials readiness and schedule adherence
- Inventory & Process Improvement
- Review replenishment data and inventory trends to support appropriate stock levels
- Assist in analyzing material flow to reduce excess inventory or stockouts
- Support root cause investigations when material or inventory issues impact operations
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives within manufacturing and supply chain functions
- Document procedures and assist with updating standard workflows
- Systems & Administrative Support
- Maintain accuracy of data within ERP/MRP systems
- Provide analytical support for special projects or leadership requests
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Analytics, or related field — or equivalent professional experience
- 2–5 years of experience in manufacturing, supply chain, production planning, or related operational roles
- Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas and pivot tables
- Experience with ERP or MRP systems preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively across cross-functional teams
- Foundational understanding of manufacturing operations, inventory control, and planning processes
- Exposure to Lean principles or continuous improvement practices is a plus
