Client Services Associate
Berkshire Wealth Group | Great Barrington, MA
Part-Time | Mon-Fri, 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM (20 hrs/week) | $30-35/hour
About Us
The Raymond James financial advisors at Berkshire Wealth Group serve families in the Berkshires and beyond with thoughtful, evidence-based financial planning. We're a small team—two advisors managing approximately 120 client relationships—and we take pride in doing things right, not fast.
We believe that good financial advice starts with good operations: accurate paperwork, clear communication, and genuine care for the people we serve.
The Role
We're looking for a detail-oriented, locally-rooted professional to handle the operational backbone of our practice. This isn't a stepping-stone role—it's for someone who wants to become indispensable to a small business and its clients.
Your primary responsibilities:
- Processing money movements (wires, ACH transfers, journals between accounts)
- Opening new accounts and coordinating account transfers (ACATs)
- Preparing and reviewing client paperwork for accuracy
- Scheduling client meetings and maintaining our calendar
- Depositing checks and reconciling transactions
- Entering detailed notes in our CRM system
- Fielding client calls with warmth and professionalism
Bonus skills (not required):
- Social media content creation or scheduling
- Basic graphic design or Canva experience
What We're Looking For
Non-negotiables:
- Exceptional attention to detail — A single transposed digit can move the wrong amount of someone's retirement savings
- Strong phone presence — You'll be a voice of our firm to clients and custodians
- Genuine care — Our clients trust us with their life savings; we need someone who takes that seriously
- Local stability — We're investing in training; we need someone who's staying in the Berkshires
- Comfort with numbers — You don't need to be a financial expert, but math can't make you anxious
What success looks like here:
- You catch errors before they happen
- You ask questions early, not after mistakes
- Clients feel cared for when they interact with you
- You take pride in getting things right
- You can handle being on hold for 40 minutes without losing your mind
What We Offer
- $30-35/hour (higher end for relevant experience)
- Predictable schedule — Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. No nights, no weekends.
- Flexible work location — You don't need to be in the office every day, but should be able to come in when needed for check deposits and during training
- Thorough training — We don't expect you to know wealth management; we expect you to be excellent at learning our systems
- Autonomy once earned — We trust competence; you won't be micromanaged
- A role that matters — When you do your job well, families' financial lives run smoothly
