People and Culture Manager
Citizens Advice Northumberland
Ashington (hybrid working)
£31,101 – £35,700
Up to 37 hours per week
We’re looking for a People & Culture Manager who cares as much about how people experience work as what policies say. Someone who can lead with confidence, bring warmth and challenge in equal measure, and help us build a culture where people feel supported, trusted and able to do their best work.
At Citizens Advice Northumberland, our team make a real difference in peoples lives every day. This exciting new role exists to make sure that they are supported just as well.
What you’ll be doing
- Acting as our strategic HR lead, advising senior leaders and managers with confidence and clarity
- Championing a healthy, inclusive and values-led culture across the organisation
- Leading the full employee lifecycle, from attraction and onboarding through to wellbeing, employee relations, formal HR processes and exit
- Supporting managers through real, sometimes complex people issues with empathy, pragmatism and sound judgement
- Using data and insight to spot trends, shape interventions and improve how things work
- Owning and evolving our people practices, not just maintaining them.
This is currently a stand-alone role, with real autonomy and influence, and the opportunity to help shape how people support develops in the future.
Who we’re looking for
You’ll Be Someone Who
- Has solid generalist HR experience and is comfortable operating at both strategic and operational levels
- Is confident advising, influencing and (when needed) constructively challenging managers and leaders
- Cares deeply about equity, inclusion, wellbeing and organisational culture
- Understands that good people practice is about judgement, relationships and trust, not just process
- Is values-driven and motivated by work that genuinely matters.
Charity or not-for-profit experience is great, but not essential, what matters most is your mindset and approach.
Why join us?
- Meaningful work with real impact across Northumberland
- A supportive, collaborative leadership team
- Flexibility, trust and space to shape the role
- An organisation that genuinely wants to do people practice well
