Job Summary:
The Maintenance Technician III is a senior-level role responsible for performing advanced mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, repairs, and preventative maintenance on manufacturing equipment and facility systems. This role ensures that production operations run efficiently by minimizing downtime and optimizing machine performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform advanced troubleshooting and repairs on production machinery, automated systems, and facility equipment.
- Conduct preventative and predictive maintenance to reduce equipment failures and downtime.
- Diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems in accordance with safety and operational standards.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals to ensure proper maintenance procedures.
- Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment.
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs, reports, and documentation.
- Work with PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) to diagnose and resolve automation-related issues.
- Train and mentor junior maintenance technicians.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, company policies, and industry regulations regarding safety and equipment maintenance.
- Collaborate with production teams to identify recurring issues and implement long-term solutions.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or associate degree in industrial maintenance, electrical, or mechanical field preferred.
- 5+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in bedding or textiles.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including 480V, three-phase motors, and control circuits.
- Experience with PLC troubleshooting and programming is a plus.
- Proficiency in welding, fabrication, and machining preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to work flexible shifts, including nights and weekends as needed.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods.
- Work in varying conditions, including hot, cold, and noisy environments.
- Ability to climb ladders, work at heights, and operate heavy equipment as needed.
