Duties Description
Support the Data and Analytics team in gathering, analyzing, and modeling Thruway data to empower department leaders to turn information into action and informed decisions. They will help the team further the Thruway’s initiatives by supporting the design, build, and maintenance of BI solutions including, but not limited to:
- Querying data repos and generating both periodic and ad hoc reports and visualizations.
- Participating in stakeholder’s meetings to understand and help document business needs.
- Support the deployment of methods for identifying patterns, relationships, and trends in data sources.
- Conducting tests to ensure that BI solutions are consistent with defined needs.
- Supporting the drafting & building of new functions or applications in programming languages to conduct analyses.
- Monitoring automations.
- Performing exploratory analysis and documenting data systems across departments.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Four years of experience* in data visualization, statistical models and data mining tools, and satisfactory completion of a two-year traineeship; OR six years of experience* in data visualization, and statistical models and data mining tools.
- Substitution: An associate’s degree may substitute for two years of general experience; OR a bachelor’s degree may substitute for four years of general experience. A master’s degree in data or computer science, informatics, economics, statistics, mathematics, or a related field may substitute for one year of general experience; OR a Ph.D. in these fields may substitute for two years of general experience.

Additional Pay Information
The salary range for this position includes all applicable annual components of pay which are:
Base Pay Range from Hiring Rate $64,427 up to Job Rate $91,409.
Recruitment & Retention Pay: $7,000.
