Salary: Base $19.00/hour
Location: Dix Avenue Center- Early Head Start $19.00/hr
Hours per week: 35
Weeks per Year: 52 – Receive 35 hours of personal time your first day of hire, and accrue paid sick time and vacation time each pay period.
The Administrative Assistant is directly responsible to the Center Coordinator. The Administrative Assistant supports the
daily operations of the Center. This position provides clerical tasks, data entry, and organizational support to ensure
efficient communication, accurate documentation, and smooth program delivery. The Administrative Assistant works
closely with the center staff, families and community partners. The Administrative Assistant is the first point of contact
for families, visitors, and staff at the center. The Administrative Assistant must provide professional and courteous
assistance in person, by phone, and by email.

- Adhere to the agency’s policy on confidentiality both within the Agency and community and adhere to all
Agency and program policies and procedures.
- Work closely with all staff to ensure all integrated approach and provide comprehensive services to clients,
children and families.
- Utilize professional reading, writing and communication skills in order to carry out the necessary job
requirements.
Typical Work activities will include but not be limited to the following:
- Phone, Door and Office Coverage.
- Compilation and maintenance of program policies, procedures and forms as assigned by their Supervisor and/or
admin team.
- Copying, collating, mailings, filling, etc. as required for the program and assigned by the Center Coordinator
and/or Administration
- Perform administrative and/or technical tasks to support program needs as assigned by the Supervisor: ie, center
inventory, supply ordering, etc.
- Knowledge of the center; cover as center coordinator for short term absences.
- Draft agency correspondence at the request of the Supervisor or admin team.
- Attend meetings and all appropriate trainings, some of which may be out-of-county travel and evening/overnight
attendance as requested by the program director or designee.

Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid NYS (New York State) Driver’s License and at least 21 years of age to drive agency vehicles per agency policy and means of reliable transportation.
- An understanding and knowledge of the workings of a non-profit organization.
