1 year Contract Position
Assist justice-involved individuals with mental health needs by connecting them to community-based behavioral health services and reducing system involvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Screen individuals for behavioral health needs
- Refer to appropriate services (e.g., SPOA, ACT, INSET, SOS)
- Follow up to ensure service engagement
- Educate participants about court process and legal terms
- Maintain and update local resource directory
- Assist with food, shelter, benefits applications
- Document all client contacts in OMH's Red Cap system
- Participate in OMH training, data reporting, and quarterly stakeholder meetings
- Organize county-level stakeholder collaboration sessions
Minimum Qualifications:
- Certification as a New York Certified Peer Specialist (NYCPS) - NYPSCB
- Minimum 1 year of experience in mental health, criminal justice, or substance abuse
