Duties Description
- Perform data analysis, cleaning, and ad-hoc reporting for assigned business units.
- Coordinate with supervisor to collect business requirements and convert requirements into technical documentation.
- Review business unit data structures to determine ability to create advanced data analytic reporting.
- Conduct analysis of data using advanced data analysis and statistical techniques.
- Establish partnerships with business units to identify business unit needs and coordinate with supervisor to address needs.
- Respond to business unit issues and assist to address new initiatives.
- Prepare data visualization and reports for management.
- Develop reports, visualizations, dashboards, scorecards, and queries for use by analysts and business users.
- Identify data trends and identify programs’ risk based on these trends.
- Translate technical data into lay terms.
- Compile other ad-hoc data analyses based on current needs and executive management priorities.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in data or computer science, informatics, economics, statistics, mathematics, or a related field, and either: satisfactory completion of a two-year traineeship or two years of experience* in data visualization, and statistical models and data mining tools.
- Substitution: A master’s degree in data or computer science, informatics, economics, statistics, mathematics, or a related field, may substitute for one year of the specialized experience. A Ph.D. in the above fields may substitute for two years of the specialized experience.
Successful completion of a two-year traineeship leads to appointment as a Data Analyst 1, SG-18.
NOTE: IN ORDER TO AWARD THE PROPER CREDIT FOR WORK EXPERIENCE, RESUMES MUST INCLUDE MONTH AND YEAR FOR START AND END DATES. IF ANY OF THIS EXPERIENCE IS LESS THAN FULL TIME YOU MUST INDICATE THE AVERAGE NUMBER OF HOURS WORKED PER WEEK.
