Position Overview
The Payroll Assistant will join a team of dedicated team of Human Resources professionals who have built a reputation internally as being a strong partner to the business. This is a high-volume position where you will have the ability to make a positive impact in your day-to-day workload and be recognized for your efforts.
Essential Responsibilities
- Respond to incoming questions from Prime employees related to general payroll matters, tax issues, paid time off, leaves of absence and wage related deductions.
- Conduct Pre-Payroll-Processing review to check for errors or missed entries
- Ensure employee information is processed timely, such as exemptions, transfers, and resignations, to maintain and update payroll records.
- Responsible for the administration of the new hire onboarding process via Dayforce, as well as ensuring new hires complete all necessary documents by company due dates.
- Assisting the payroll team conducting weekly, monthly and quarterly audits in wide spread areas of payroll reporting, financial audits, benefit deductions, 401k elections and enrollments, 401k contributions, auto allocations, time supervisors, etc.
- Compliance oversight for payroll related changes or updates as determined by federal, state and local authorities
- Provide regularly scheduled payroll reports to other departments as assigned
- Ensure the timely processing of wage garnishments, pay levies, and other involuntary court ordered payments in a timely manner, including reporting to the necessary authorities.
- Respond to incoming inquiries regarding employment verifications
- Work closely with other members of the Human Resources team as may be needed from time to time
Qualifications
- The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of experience operating in a payroll, accounting or HR related environment with a minimum understanding of baseline rules surrounding a non-exempt workforce and multi-state payroll.
- Prior knowledge of Dayforce payroll is preferred, but not required
- Must be self-starting, goal oriented and operate with a high degree of integrity.
