The position will be assigned to the Division of Technology and Court Research's Data Team.
Specific tasks include but are not limited to:
- Analyzing internal and external data and report requests to determine feasibility and level of effort
- Gathering requirements for standardized extracts (both new extracts and existing data feed enhancements)
- Testing new extracts and enhancements to existing extracts
- Creating and updating documentation related to standardized data extracts and data-related processes
- Running queries against databases (SQL Server and Oracle) to analyze data, document information, and investigate issues
- Responding to questions about data from internal and external stakeholders
- Troubleshooting data quality issues
The analyst will document requirements, perform testing, communicate project deliverables, and document the final products. Technical writing experience is required. The ability to work with multiple areas of the organization is required, as Principal Court Analysts address areas that include operational, legal, and technical concerns. Candidates must have strong written and verbal communication skills, be proactive problem solvers, and possess a willingness to learn new systems and technology. Candidates must also have a strong focus on customer service and timely communication. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel including the use of pivot tables and functions is required. The ability to write SQL queries is strongly preferred. Working knowledge of XML is preferred but not required. Familiarity with the NYS Unified Court System is preferred but not required.
This position will be filled based on the qualifications and experience of the selected candidate in one of the following titles:
Principal Court Analyst: One year in the Senior Court Analyst title; or Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and three (3) years of relevant experience; or Master's degree in Public or Business Administration from an accredited college or university and two (2) years of relevant experience or An equivalent combination of education and experience. Salary: $84,659
Senior Court Analyst: One year in the Court Analyst title; or Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and two (2) years of relevant experience; or Master's degree in Public or Business Administration from an accredited college or university and one (1) year or relevant experience; or An equivalent combination of education and experience. Salary: $76,112
Court Analyst: One year in the Assistant Court Analyst title; or Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and one (1) year of relevant experience; or Master's degree in Public or Business Administration from an accredited college or university or An equivalent combination of education and experience. Salary: $64,971
