This summer internship is designed for college students seeking hands-on experience during their break between spring and fall semesters. Schultz Construction, Inc. is seeking Construction/Estimating Interns to support our Estimating and Project Management teams. This internship is ideal for students interested in construction project careers such as Project Engineer, Project Manager, or Estimator.

What You'll Do

As a Construction/Estimating Intern, you will:

Assist with quantity takeoffs and cost estimating for heavy civil construction projects

Contact subcontractors and vendors to gather pricing and scope information

Help develop Requests for Information (RFIs) and track M/DBE outreach efforts

Support Project Managers with day-to-day coordination and administrative tasks

Gain exposure to the pre-construction and bidding process

Learn how large-scale infrastructure projects are planned and executed

Required Qualifications

What We're Looking For

Currently enrolled in a Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related program

Interest in pursuing a career in construction project management, estimating, or field operations

Organized, motivated, and able to work in a fast-paced, professional environment

Strong communication skills and willingness to learn

Preferred Attributes

Interest in hands-on construction work and project delivery (beyond design-focused roles)

Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines

Basic understanding of construction drawings or project documentation

Work Schedule & Conditions

Full-time, on-site internship (Monday through Friday) during the summer (aligned with college break between spring and fall semesters)

Potential for part-time work during the school year (flexible scheduling available)

Travel to project sites within 1-2 hours of Albany, NY may be required

Company vehicle provided for business-related travel
