Position Overview

We are looking for a Production Control/ Programmer to join our team at Schenectady Steel Company, Inc., in Schenectady NY. Primary roles and responsibilities:

Coordinate items release for fabrication between Project Management and the shop
Generate report for the shop(s) and/or purchasing departments (data input, cross checking reports to drawings, processing CNC programs).
Receive, upload, and/or create CNC programs.
Assist Supply Chain Manger with daily tasks.
Assist with procuring materials and other items necessary for completing project goals.
Performing other duties assigned by the Project Manager in an orderly and efficient manner.
Tracking and reporting project progress.
Research information to support other team members.
Assisting to coordinate and manage project tasks and deliverables.

Qualifications

Ability to understand, interpret, and convert feet/inches/fractions, etc.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments as required.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
Computer proficient with Microsoft office products/ Blue beam/ Tekla a plus.
Experience with Steel Fabrication preferred
IT experience is a plus
