Through hospitality, kindness, and respect the Capital Area Council of Churches Overflow Shelter houses up to nineteen men each night from November to April.

We are looking for one Evening Staff Attendant (5 PM - 12 AM Midnight) and one Overnight Staff Attendant for the CACC Overflow Shelter (12 AM Midnight - 8 AM). Days and hours are determined based on staffing needs. Training provided by Shelter Director.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Intake and documentation of guests entering the shelter nightly
Follow ALL Shelter protocols related to Guest admittance and Health and Safety protocols.
Necessary Training and Orientation to Shelter Protocols and Emergency CPR and Narcan use.

Some specific duties to include:

Assisting guests with completion of necessary paperwork upon arrival
Monitoring all health and safety needs upon arrival
Washing/drying of Shelter bedding, towels, and any other items that might need cleaning
Setup and serving of meals and beverages to guests
Cleaning of common areas which include bathroom, lounge, halls, and sleeping area.

Previous experience working in a residential facility a plus. A good candidate for this position is someone who is empathetic, able to set expectations for guests, and willing to learn best practices from our Shelter Director.
